In order to create a powerful business plan, all elements of the plan must align with each other. Alignment should be embedded throughout the development of the business plan. When finalizing the plan, verify alignment by looking for substantial linkages between the elements – don’t settle for minor or peripheral inter-relationships.
For a social enterprise, some additional work is required:
- Identify where the financial and social reinforce each other, and focus your energies on efforts in these areas,
- Look for areas where financial and social are in conflict, and remove or neutralize these conflicts.
